World Premiere of The Tallest Tree in the Forest

A list of VIPs attended this world premiere by the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, including Congressman and Mrs. Emanuel Cleaver II and Kansas City Mayor and Mrs. Sly James.

The show is about the life and music of 20th century African American actor, singer and social activist Paul Robeson as portrayed by the show’s writer and performer Daniel Beaty.  The show’s director Moisés Kaufman spoke at a pre-show reception hosted by the Rep’s Board of Directors at Copaken Stage in the H&R Block Headquarters, 13th and Walnut Streets.
