This month the Kansas City Ballet is introducing Alice as you’ve never seen her before.
You already know the familiar cast of characters, including the Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter and Queen of Hearts. Now follow Lewis Carroll’s beloved heroine down the rabbit hole to a magical make-believe land when the company brings “Alice (in Wonderland)” to the stage at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts from October 10-19.
The critically acclaimed production combines innovative and energetic choreography by Washington Ballet artistic director Septime Webre, fantastical costumes created by Cirque du Soleil designer Liz Vandal and an edgy new score by composer-violinist Matthew Pierce for a wild ride to a world where nothing is as it seems. Tickets ($25-$119) are available online. Don’t be late for this very important date.
