Hoddy Potter shows us her gym bag must-haves for a trip to the barre.
Fresh out of teaching a private class, fitness aficionado and owner of The Bar Method Fitness Studios in Kansas City and Leawood Hoddy Potter is all smiles. In her brightly lit West Plaza studio, she shares the contents of her Lululemon gym bag and tells us what she carries to keep her organized between classes.
Q. Tell us a little bit about what’s in your gym bag.
A. It all relates mostly to my job. I have a MacBook Air with a fun, girly cover on it and my iPhone because I’m always checking e-mails and class schedules. I have a pair of sticky socks from the line I started called Sock Playground, which gives a portion of select socks to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I have takeout from Café Gratitude, my favorite organic restaurant in KC, and La Croix, a refreshing sparkling water. I also have my highly tinted Ray Bans just because I think they’re cool and lots of fun brightly colored pens and highlighters because it makes my work happy and cheery. And of course, my momAgenda planner!
Q. If you had to pick only 3 items to keep, what would you keep?
A. I would say sticky socks, my laptop, and my zebra print momAgenda planner. I’m still old-school and write everything down. With three kids, this agenda is perfect because it has spaces for each kid so I can write down their activities on top of all my own appointments and work.
Q. What is your favorite item in your bag?
A. momAgenda planner for sure. It always keeps me organized, and my colored pens and highlighters help me color code my life. I don’t know what I would do if I lost it.
