Brighten up your home with a little inspiration from one of the city’s most esteemed lighting designers.
As you add fall flourishes to your home, don’t forget one key element: your lighting. Amy Jo Cosgrove, director of sales and marketing for Barbara Cosgrove Lamps, offers up the season’s most popular pieces and the inspiration behind them.
“We’re seeing a lot of gold leaf, which is still really strong, and pieces with a ‘70s flair,” she says. “We tend to stay pretty classic in general but incorporate influences in current trends. For us, it’s all about the shape and scale of the lamp body.”
Curious what you’ll find in the store now? “Oxblood inspired our color palette for fall,” Cosgrove shares. Get the look with this striking lamp in the color of the moment.
Also trending: metallic bronze finishes that are one of fall fashion’s big looks too. For a vintage vibe, Cosgrove says thick, heavy glass cylinders with a gold lip on top offer the desired aesthetic.
“The showstopper for fall, however, is the new Ellie lamp, a beautiful ivory bust of a girl (with a braid) on a black base,” Cosgrove says. “She’s pretty, delicate and thoughtful.”
