Share Your Heart Health Story with Go Red for Women

The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women campaign is searching for its newest leading ladies.

This November share your heart-felt stories for the chance to become a Go Red for Women spokesperson, whether you’re a stroke or heart attack survivor, caregiver or just in the know about heart-healthy living. Two area women are currently serving spokespeople for the organization (read their stories here).

Casting calls will be held 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5 at Saint Luke’s Muriel I. Kauffman Women’s Heart Center; Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Saint Luke’s North Hospital’s Center for Women’s Care; Thursday, Nov. 12 at Saint Luke’s South Hospital’s Conference Rooms A and B; and Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Saint Luke’s East Hospital’s Cardiovascular Consultants.

Why should you spread the word? One in three women dies of heart disease or stroke, but 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented with the proper education and lifestyle change, according to Go Red for Women, the American Heart Association’s national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women.

Participants will receive tote bags and bracelets and have the opportunity to meet dietitians, speak with a Saint Luke’s cardiologist and get their blood pressure screened.

RSVPs to are encouraged. For more information, visit or call 913-652-1913.
