Shawnee Mission Health’s new location will serve southern Johnson County.
Shawnee Mission Health has broken ground on a new location, Shawnee Mission Health – Blue Valley. Construction begins this month on the facility, which will feature an emergency department, laboratory, imaging center and an approximately 75,000-square-foot medical office building for physicians.
Located within the new BluHawk development, SMH – Blue Valley will offer high-quality health care for the southern Johnson County community and is expected to open early 2017.
“We are proud to announce the expansion of our health care network into this growing community,” says Ken Bacon, president and CEO of SMH. “We are pleased to bring Shawnee Mission Health’s extensive experience in providing quality and reliable health care to southern Johnson County communities and we look forward to integrating with the BluHawk development and surrounding communities.”
SMH has partnered with GE Johnson Construction Company and local organizations Henderson Engineers, Inc.; ACI Boland Architects; HKS, Inc.; Olsson Associates and Bob D. Campbell & Co., Inc. on the project.
“We know our patients want better access to health care, and believe this facility will serve as the new go-to location for southern Overland Park and surrounding community residents,” says SMH’s Medical Staff President Jhulan Mukharji. “We’re honored to continue serving our current patients who live in this area and look forward to introducing new patients to our wide array of health care services.”
