Where to Watch the Royals During the World Series

Celebrate the Royals in their latest World Series appearance with watch parties and specials from your favorite restaurants and bars around town.

Kansas City (and the rest of the country) is buzzing as our teams take their leagues by storm. This week, fans everywhere have turned to the Royals to do their part and claim a spot in baseball history. Wear your best blue and watch the World Series with your fellow fans while enjoying a few really good deals.

After roaring success with MLS soccer game finals, the Royals vs. New York Mets will be playing on the huge LED screens at Power & Light’s Kansas City Live! Block. The watch parties will feature giveaways, games and food and drink specials, not to mention face painting for younger fans.

Happy hour naturally extends through the night games at both La Bodega locations. Keep game day anxiety at bay with sangria, well drinks and select Spanish beers.

High-definition TVs will be showing the games at Gram & Dun’s bar and patio, one of our favorites, so enjoy the last few patio-appropriate days of the year with a Royal Dun (made with Hennessy Black, Rothman’s Cherry, Cointreau and pineapple juice) in hand. Bonus: sitting on the patio means you can shout as loudly as you want.

Julep is showing the game on the big screen tonight and celebrating the Royals with local beer, spirits and drink specials. Make sure to get their early to score a prime seat (and cocktail hour specials, which end at 6 p.m.).

Sports-loving Port Fonda couldn’t let the World Series go by without doing something special. Watch the game with the sound on while filling up on stadium-inspired Mexican food, Bloody Maria Bar and their “Bo Knows Beer” specials.

Cleaver & Cork provides a great gameside seat to the series at the Kansas City Live Block with their post-season menu of quick bites. You can order a light Spring Greens dish featuring roasted apple, candied walnuts and cider vinaigrette, or get something more substantial with their slow smoked pulled pork sandwich topped with fried jalapenos, goat cheese and KC BBQ sauce.

For game nights, enjoy a few specials at Barrel 31 – Right now, they’re offering a four piece chicken tenders, fries, and slaw basket for just $8. You can also whet your whistle with $5 crown shots, $4 heavy Budweisers, and $4 River North tall boys.

Nara in the Crossroads is celebrating the Royals by offering the Take the Crown Roll for $10. It’s full of Bluenose (New Zealand fish), cucumber, scallions, avocado with wasabi tobiko and Aonori on top with jalapeno yuzu ponzu on the side.

Celina Tio’s Julian wants to make sure you have the option to eat a real dinner while watching the game, so the restaurant is offering three courses for $30 and half-priced bottles whenever the Royals are playing.

At Westport Flea Market, burgers are on special for $2.99 as long as the Royals are in the post season as an homage to what they cost that last time the Royals were in the playoffs.

And of course The Peanut on Main is a classic spot to catch games. With multiple television screens, spicy hot wings voted “The Best” for what seems like year after year. Of course there are cold brews, so you’re sure to have an enjoyable watch experience with tried and true fans.

Westport Café and Bar are going big with their special menu with the #BloodyMaryTizer. The $15, 25-ounce cocktail is made with Westport Cafe’s popular house Blood Mary mix and J. Rieger & Co. Midwestern Premium Vodka, then garnished with seven skewers of snacks, including chicken and waffles; mini tacos, pizza rolls and taquitos; pepper jack cheese and tomatoes; four different types of pickles; and mini corn dogs.
