It’s in the Bag

Designer purses and style tips are on the menu at It’s in the Bag, a Nov. 14 auction and luncheon benefitting Love Fund for Children.

New and gently-loved designer purses, wallets, totes and accessories are the stars of the show at It’s in the Bag, Saturday, Nov. 14 at the InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza. Now in its 13th year, the fundraiser benefits Love Fund for Children, which provides kids in need throughout Kansas City and 30 surround counties with items such as glasses, hearing aids, clothing and assistive technology.

“The proceeds enable us to provide various types of comfort and care to many children that might not receive assistance through other organizations, school programs or even their own family because of financial struggles,” says Lisa Herron, executive director of the Love Fund.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes a presentation from local handbag designer Charity Ohlund, who founded her own wildly successful handbag company, Maddy Nash, and will share the story of her success and offer some handbag fashion secrets from the stage.

Then it’s time for the main attraction, a live auction featuring limited high-caliber, coveted items including one-of-a-kind experiences, a Royals package including a Word Series home plate signed by Salvador Perez, jewelry from Silpada, and a handbag donated by CBS This Morning anchor and editor-at-large of O, The Oprah Magazine Gayle King.

Individual tickets for non-reserved seats are $50 and group/corporate reserved tables of 10 are $750. To register, visit www.lovefundforchildren.org.
