Get to know our adoptable pet of the week, Jackson from Wayside Waifs.
Say hello to Jackson, a 6-year-old, 48-pound Hound/Beagle mix. He’s a sweet and simple dog who enjoys a leisurely walk through the neighborhood, a dog bed all his own and someone who just wants to spend time with him. He’s been in a kennel so long—several months now—that he becomes agitated and frustrated. He’ll bark and seem unhappy but the second he’s out, he’s an easy and laidback dog.
He’s fun and playful, affectionate and friendly, goofy and silly. And he’s housetrained! Jackson loves to play fetch and play with his toys. He has a hound nose, so while on walks he tends to sniff out his surroundings. He needs to go to a home with a yard as opposed to an apartment where he’ll be tucked indoors and could become loud. The home he finds needs to recognize he guards his food and doesn’t want to share, so he’ll need a place to eat all of his own and to be the only pet in the household.
